Trail Description:
Erwin Park is a city of McKinney public park. The trail is ONE WAY direction just around 10 miles of imtermediate skill level. The trail is a mix of tight and twisty in the woods to some fast open field sections. Some gradual climbing, there are some fast and fun downhills as well. There are some technical sections and most of the technical sections have alternate (easy) routes around them. The last section of trail is called the expert section. Camping is allowed for a very nominal fee. Contact the city community center at 972-547-2690. They are located on the north bound service road of central, north of Eldorado Parkway.

Take US-75 to McKinney. Take exit 41 (Highway 380). Go west on 380 for about 2.5 miles. Turn right onto State Road 1461 (Lake Forest). Turn right onto CR-162 (this is a sign for Erwin Park). CR-162 is very short. Turn right onto CR164. Proceed .9 miles to CR-1006. Turn left onto CR-1006. Erwin Park entrance is down this road on your right. Enter the park. When the road splits, turn left. Pass the first parking area on your right. Park at the second parking area. The trailhead is down the road on your right. The kiosk marks the trailhead. Stay right of the trailhead Kiosk (sign) to go correct direction on trail.

Some simple Erwin Park rules:
• No Alcohol; Zero Tolerance on this rule
• Park and drive on paved surfaces only
• No firemarms (anything that releases a projectile)
• Stay on the trail
• Yield to pedestrians
• Authorized trail maintenance only! Must get authorization from Trail steward! (Violators will be prosecuted)
• Park hours are 8 am until 10 pm daily (unless you are camping); gates are locked at 10PM
