Who is ready to open the trail? We are! But first, meet us for a workday this Saturday, July 27 from 8 AM to Noon to address the flood damage.
The forecast predicts fun and fellowship with mild weather so bring your friends and let's get some stuff done!
We have loads to do to be in good shape again. The main tasks will be clearing downed trees, raking the trail, mowing the fields, and picking up debris from the flooding.
If you have a rake or tool of your choice, bring it. We will have some tools and power equipment.
Wear protective boots and gloves. A long-sleeved shirt and pants are recommended, as well as a hat, sunscreen, and bug repellent.
We recommend you bring a backpack or camelback to carry your water.
We need a few crew leaders who know the trail to help guide volunteers to clean up the actual trail rather than the bandit trails, which need to be blocked off again.
Please reach out directly to
[email protected] if you have questions or would like to volunteer at a different time outside this public workday.
We will be meeting at the trailhead off Boat House Drive.
