This workday will consist of maintenance on the Skills Course Area at Erwin Park and in some high-need areas needing to clear the trail of overgrowth, trash pickup, remove fallen debris on trails. Tools available will include weed whackers, backpack blowers, loppers, shovels, etc. To use power tools, you’ll have to complete MPF Safety Orientation. Click here to view the regulations.

What to bring: Print the volunteer waiver and bring it with you. Participants under age 18 need to have a guardian or parent sign the form. You will also need to have your own work gloves. Bring bug spray, sunscreen, and water. Protective eyewear is recommended if you plan to be cutting branches or operating some of the cutting tools. If you bring your own tools, please have them marked as such so we know they are yours.

What do I wear: Long pants, long sleeves, face covering, and closed toed shoes or boots. Sunscreen and bug spray are recommended.  Please dress appropriately for the weather. Please do not wear leggings or other thin material which is not protective on your body.

The McKinney Parks Foundation has partnered with Erwin MTB and DORBA for this Volunteer Workday and is proud to aid in the assistance of Erwin Parks growing needs.

Volunteers What to Bring:

- Rakes/shovels/hoes (supplied by MPF and DORBA, tool donations gladly accepted)
- Wear protective boots and gloves, long sleeve pants and shirts are recommended, as well as a hat or sunscreen

Parking will marked with signage on the volunteer day.

Please arrive 10 minutes before the start time to sign a waiver and meet the group. Individuals needing to earn service hours can have their records signed by a board member at the conclusion of the event.
