Nearest City: Grapevine

Directions: Coming from East or West on 114 toward the D/FW Airport, exit Texan Trail (business 114) and turn north. Go approx 1.25 miles through three traffic signals, the third being NW Highway (business 26). At the second street after NW highway, which is Dove Loop, turn left (only way you can). Follow Dove Loop for approx 1.75 miles through two traffic signals, (Dooley & Main) & turn right at the third signal (Dove Loop). Go approx 1 mile and you will see Oak Grove Park sign on your right and McPhearson Slough on the left. Turn left into Mcphearson Slough and follow the park road to the trail head near the restrooms.

Description: The trail has an approx. 5 mile loop offering everything from tight twisty turns, roots and more roots to short rocky climbs and creek crossings. The trail is like a Chinese Buffet, so many choices - so little time. Horse Shoe is also a great trail to ride at night. “The Shoe” is a two way multi-use trail so watch for walkers and families out enjoying the park.

Facilities:
  • There is a water fountain and tap for drinking water just east of the restrooms. It is only operational during spring, summer and fall.
  • Restrooms.
  • No Camping.
  • Nearest Gas/Food available is at the intersection on Dove Rd. and Dove Loop, approx 1 mile from trail head.
