In the event the Dorba continues to crash I would request that people check out the Texas Forum at MTBR for updates. If you are a steward, cannot update Dorba, and know that your trail should be open or closed then please feel free to update the thread at MTBR or email me so I can update the big list.

IM me or email for my cell number if that is more convenient.
This is that time of year where we may have limited trail time due to frequent rain storms.
I will try to keep updates current on MTBR.com in the Texas Forum

Thank yall so much for the information I have an idea now. Thanks
Ill be going and riding this trail for the first time on wednesday with my GF, any advice and info would be great. Is there any fees? Can you cook there? maps of trail? Im not planning on camping or spending the night just an all day thing. Thanks!
They'll hand you a map of the trail when you check in at the gate (ask if they don't, they might think you've been there before...they usually ask, though). I think it has total distances for each loop, and will give you a general idea where you're at.
The loops are set up like they are at RCP... So, you go out on loop A, and take loop B when you come to it. Then you take loop C, and loop D. You'll ride all of loop D, and then you come back to the return part of loop C, and then the return of loop B. There isn't any 'return' section of loop A. If you want to do the whole thing, basically just stay left at every interesection! Of course, if you want to skip loop D, or loop C, etc., you just stay on the loop you're on (go right, instead of left).
I've never done the EZ loop, which is to the right when you first get on the trail, so I can't tell you what that's like.
My personal opinion is that Loop C is the hardest loop...its climbs are tougher because of the switchbacks. But the grinding, 1/2 mile long climb at the very end of loop B will get your heart rate up there, too!. There isn't anything technical at Tyler...some of the downhill sections are strewn with roots, but still easy to ride through.
I video'd the whole thing a few weeks back, and posted it on youtube, if you're interested. Search for NorthTXmountainbiker. There's a separate video for each loop.

I did two full laps Monday, finished right before dark. The trail was in great condition.
I don't know how you crazy knotheads are riding that thing on single speeds...I met two guys there riding SS, one had a hardtail and the other was fully rigid! I do the whole thing in my middle and big rings, but I am all over the cassette in back! I actually had a nightmare where I had to ride it with a 34-20 SS setup!

There is the standard state park entrance fee of 5$ per person. Plenty of pits for grilling in the day areas by the lake.

Ended up doing a full lap a day for 3 days straight. First 2 days on my SS and Sunday with gears for a little recovery. I think we found our new home away from home since solovaca stays closed longer.
Matt, I forgot about that puddle on D, never had any mud stick to my tires tho, just dog poo.
Trail is in fantastic condition...slight mud reservoir on D section right before the crazy steep climb.
First time out there....pretty damn nice trail

We rode two laps here yesterday. Trail was in
perfect condition. This is quickly becoming my
favorite place to ride.
