Rowlett Creek Preserve is back for the 6th time as one of the DFW Championship Series race venues. It is one of the most popular race course in the DFW Championship Series. The race course is flat, fast and tight and twisty. This is the fastest race course in the series. The start will be in the open field just southeast of the trail head. The start will head south and pick up the single track on loop 3 just as it heads north. The current plan for the race courses are using loops 1-5 & 8-10. Beginners will not do loops 9-10. No one will go south of the spill way on loop 5 (i.e. you will not cross the spillway). The 1/2 lap use loops 1-5 and will not cross the creek. The only racers doing the 1/2 lap will be the Beginner 12 & Under and the Expert Junior/Senior/Veteran Men classes. The Expert men who do the 1/2 lap will be doing it first.

Cedar Hill State Park is back for the 6th time as one of the DFW Championship Series race venues. The start will be were it was the last two times we raced at CHSP. The race course will use the 3 mile loop as the starting loop and the 7 mile loop as the race course. We will be adding some double track/dirt road sections to speed up the race course. The details of the race course has not been worked out yet.

Sister Grove is back for the 7th time as one of the DFW Championship Series races. The race course will use all of the trail. The 1/2 lap will use the trails west of the Hunter Access trail (last mile of the Lake Loop & last 2 miles of the Sister Grove Loop).

Beginner Racing Tips

Beginner Racing tips can be found on the following web pages: TMBRA rules page has a good article on racing tips at http://www.tmbra.org/rules.htm and former DORBA Race Director Tobin Behling wrote this article about his first race @ Racing Tips. They both have lots of good do's and dont's for first time racers.
