Bar-H Bash Race

Bar-H Bash is one of the races in the TMBRA Texas State Championship Series. DORBA has been promoting this race at The Breaks @ Bar-H Ranch in Saint Jo, since 1999. The first race was held in February 1999. DORBA move it race here in 1998 because they needed a place to put on a race, rain or shine. The Breaks @ Bar-H Ranch is one of the best trails in North Texas.

Bar-H Ranch from the top of Tough Breaks
The Breaks @ Bar-H Ranch has over 21 miles of trails. Most of the trails are single track. The race courses have vary from year to year. However they all have the same thing in common. The common things are lots of climbing (usually from 600-900 ft per lap), some long climbs (for Texas), steep climbs and descends, whop-de-do’s, lots of off-camber turns, several jumps to catch air off from, some fast fun downhill sections, dry creek bed, slick rocks, dirt ledges, and switch backs. This is a fast and fun race course despite all of the climbing.

Because wet weather can happen at anytime we have two race courses plan for the Bar-H Bash. There is a dry and wet race course. Unfortunely not all of the trails are ridable/racable when wet so we have a wet course.

2005 Bar-H Bash was on Sunday April 2rd & 3rd 2005

Beginner Racing tips can be found on the following web pages: TMBRA rules page has a good article on racing tips at http://www.tmbra.org/rules.htm and former DORBA Race Director Tobin Behling wrote this article about his first race @ Racing Tips. They both have lots of good do's and dont's for first time racers.
