currently trail stewards are only able to "edit" trail conditions. I am sure that clint has it on his "list of things to do" to enable us to be able to update specific trail description content as we were able to in dorba2.0

again many thanks go out to clint for ALL the web site (DORBA3.0) WORK that he has done and is in the process of doing...unfortunately for the most part this is a thankless job.

and i for one can't thank you enough...

Ummmmm, perhaps I shouldn't have been there but I rode loop 5 and 6 this past Sunday. There was nothing showing it was closed and there were actually riders I passed on loop 6.

Side note: Loop 6 is currently a hard tails nightmare, needs more people riding it before it smooths out.

On Google Maps, the display shows most of the trails at RCP.
See:
https://maps.google.com/?ie=UTF8&ll=32. ... 16&vpsrc=6

Then with the new iOS 6 update on iPhones, iPads, and iPods, those devices are no longer using Google for their maps, but an Apple-developed application.

How did someone get Google to put the trail maps there? Is there a way to do it for Apple?

I bet people did it with the Google Maps editor/map maker. I don't think Apple has a similar mechanism, yet.

Northshore is also listed on Google Maps. Pretty cool. Next step is turn by turn navigation on the trail :) "In 100 feet turn left, then stay right through the rock garden" (said in a woman's British accent of course).

Actually I am the one that added them to Google Maps using their MapMaker tool, it's pretty awesome to be able to do that.
I still have to do the bottom loops on RCP, I have been slacking a bit.

I have also done Northshore and Erwin Park already and will be trying to add the rest of the trail as I get the time. I like to be fairly familiar with the trails before I go ahead and map them, it makes it a lot easier so I started with the ones I have been riding the most.

For those of you with iOS devices Googles mobile browser app for maps still work pretty well in a pinch. Unfortunately I do not know of any of the other map data providers that lets the community edit maps like google does so unless the big G actually makes a standalone app for iOS (and manage to get it into iTunes) I'm not holding out much hope you will get these features back.

No problem, I am a bit of a map-geek in addition to mountain biker.
Hoping to get a good GPS trail of River Legacy tonight and hopefully add that soon.

We rode RCP trail #5 and #6 yesterday. It was really fun! Can you tell me the mileage of #6 please?
It's not listed.

Thanks,

uploaded the latest map which includes the reverse direction of travel...this will only be for the next two weeks in preparation for the dorba fall series race on 08sep13...after which the original direction of travel will be reinstated.

Any interest/chance in making this an annual occurrence?

+1

Very fun! If it happens again next year, can we make it 3-4 weeks instead of two?

The race should be over now. Please take care, there will be workers on the trail cleaning up after. As previously mentioned the Direction of Travel is now back to normal (i.e. bikes go counter clockwise and ALL other trail users are suggested to go clockwise...Thanks for yor patience and understanding.

I will attached the previous map showing the correct Direction of Travel a little later this evening.

Jack, the current map shows loop 6 closed. Are DART and Garland any closer to resolving their issue?

Thx!

Ride Loop 6 last weekend. I guess the answer is; Yes!!! Someone posted about the loop calling it the jungle and I must say they where right. Wow, vegetation rules on loop 6. Happy TRAILS everyone.
